On film, TV and digital media sets, accommodating cast and crew is a fact of life – whether serving special vegan meals and snacks, providing lodging for those who live a certain distance from locations, or equipping people with safety gear.

So, to accommodate an actor or crew member with a disability should be just as easy as meeting the needs of everyone else on the set. 

We at Inclusivity Media are presenting a series of “Set Etiquette: Cast and Crew with Disabilities” posts to provide guidance to filmmakers who employ actors and crew members with disabilities.  For any production, set etiquette begins with two key actions, as Nicolas Noblitt, Inclusivity Media board member and actor who uses a wheelchair, advises, “Avoiding assumptions and communicating honestly are essential to a great shoot.”
