A statement from Writer/Director McKenzie Moser:

"My goal was not only to empower women in front of the camera, but behind the camera. According to Forbes, in an article that tracked women’s involvement in the top 250 grossing films of 2022, only 7% of women were cinematographers. Only 19% were writers, 25% executive producers, and 18% directors. For Disordered, Recovered, Whatever, we filled these roles with women."
