An ordinary woman walking home alone finds herself in an extraordinary moment of courage when she pretends to know a terrified stranger at a bus stop—unwittingly saving her from a hidden danger.
In PEGGY, two women’s lives briefly intersect on a dark night, revealing how quiet acts of bravery can change everything.
Two women. One late bus. And a stranger in the dark who turns a mundane night into a fight for calm, courage—and survival.
"Peggy" is a film about an ordinary woman who finds an extraordinary moment of courage. Walking home after having dinner alone, middle-aged Peggy notices a man and a young woman at a bus stop. She sees something that makes her blood run cold. Instinctively, she approaches the terrified woman as if she knew her, engages in an adrenaline infused conversation and strategizes non-verbally to help her. Once the bus comes, the two women get on and the man lingers behind. It is only then, that we see him retract a switchblade knife and move into the shadows of the night. Within the safety of the bus, the strangers introduce themselves and the young woman completely breaks down. They are safe but forever changed.
At its heart, "Peggy" explores survival, empathy, and the unspoken sisterhood that emerges under threat. The story unfolds in real time, capturing the claustrophobic stillness of night and the unpredictable rhythm of fear. Visually, the film draws inspiration from Nightcrawler and Blue Valentine, with stark lighting, long shadows, and handheld intimacy that heighten the realism and immediacy of the moment. The sound design amplifies silence—the hum of streetlights, the tremor in breath, the quiet before release—turning the ordinary into something deeply unsettling.
